What are the manifestations of total depravity?

Answered in 1 source

Total depravity is manifested in our nature, minds, and hearts, showing our need for a Savior.

The manifestations of total depravity include our inherently sinful nature, our spiritually dead minds, and our wicked hearts. As Scripture points out, our nature is corrupted (Mark 7:20-23), our understanding is darkened (Ephesians 4:18), and our hearts are deceitful (Jeremiah 17:9). These manifestations highlight the comprehensive impact of sin on human beings, which reflects in our actions, thoughts, and desires. Without acknowledging these aspects, we cannot fully appreciate our utter dependency on God's grace. The awareness of total depravity leads us to seek a Savior who can deliver us from our corrupted state and give us a new nature, mind, and heart by the work of the Holy Spirit.
