What are the reactions of people to Christ's message?

Answered in 1 source

People have various reactions to Christ's message, from admiration to anger, often depending on their understanding of His grace.

In Luke 4:16-30, we see three distinct reactions to Jesus’ message in the synagogue. Initially, people spoke well of Him and were amazed at His gracious words. However, their admiration quickly turned to anger when He proclaimed the sovereignty of God's grace and the unearned nature of salvation. This reflects a common pattern; those who are confronted with the truth about their need for grace may respond positively or negatively based on their receptiveness to such truths. The change in their attitude illustrates how Christ’s teachings, particularly on grace, challenge and provoke different responses based on the listener’s condition of heart.
