What can believers do when they feel cast down or hopeless?

Answered in 1 source

Believers are encouraged to remember God's past mercies and continue to hope in Him.

In times of despair, David's example in Psalm 42 serves as a guide for believers. He repeatedly asks why his soul is cast down, reminding himself to hope in God. This self-encouragement is a model for us when we face trials. We should recall God's faithfulness in our lives and lean on His promises, recognizing that our hope should be firmly placed in God, who provides comfort and strength amidst our difficulties.
