What can Christians do to maintain their holiness?

Answered in 1 source

Christians maintain their holiness by cleansing themselves from sin and aligning their lives with God's Word.

In 2 Corinthians 7:1, believers are called to cleanse themselves from all filthiness of flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. This involves acknowledging the realities of sin in both actions and thoughts and actively seeking to live according to God's standards. The Christian life is one of continual repentance and reliance on the power of Christ’s blood for cleansing. By recognizing the need for God’s cleansing, as highlighted in 1 John 1:9, and by pursuing sanctification through both the Word of God and the inner workings of the Holy Spirit, believers can grow in their holiness. Importantly, holiness is ultimately a work of God in the believer to whom He imparts His righteousness through Christ.
