What can we learn from Haggai about doing God's work?

Answered in 1 source

Haggai teaches that despite discouragement, we are to obey God and continue in the work He has given us.

The messages in Haggai serve as a clear reminder that God calls His people to be active in their faith and to persevere in the work assigned to them. When the Israelites were discouraged in rebuilding the temple, God sent His prophet to reaffirm His presence and encourage them to return to their task. This calls all believers to reflect on their own commitments and to not be shackled by past failures or comparisons but rather to trust in God's promise to provide what is needed for His work. Despite feelings of inadequacy or external criticism, the focus must remain on God's faithfulness and the mission at hand.
