What can we learn from Mephibosheth's condition?

Answered in 1 source

Mephibosheth's lameness reflects the spiritual condition of humanity before God.

Mephibosheth's condition, being lame due to a fall, symbolizes the spiritual disability of all humanity resulting from the Fall of Adam. Just as Mephibosheth could not walk, so too do we find ourselves unable to walk in righteousness without divine intervention. In his helplessness, Mephibosheth was a picture of our need for mercy and grace. It reminds us that our spiritual blindness and inability to follow God’s ways necessitate His grace for redemption. This underscores the importance of coming to God with humility and recognizing our need for His mercy, which He freely gives through Christ.
