What can we learn from Naaman's story about humility?

Answered in 1 source

Naaman's story teaches us that humility is essential in approaching God.

Naaman, though a great and mighty man, initially struggled with pride and entitlement. He expected a grand display of healing and was insulted when Elisha simply instructed him to wash in the Jordan River. His original refusal to do so revealed a heart that was not yet humble. However, after his servant reminded him, Naaman humbled himself and followed the prophet's simple directions, resulting in his healing. This illustrates a crucial lesson: humility is vital in our relationship with God. James 4:6 states that God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. To receive God's grace, we must come with a humble heart, acknowledging our desperate need for His mercy.
