What can we learn from Pilate's actions in the trial of Jesus?

Answered in 1 source

Pilate represents the struggle of humanity to choose the truth amidst sin.

Pilate's actions during the trial of Jesus reveal the inner conflict faced by humanity when confronted with the truth of Christ. Despite acknowledging Jesus' innocence and asking what evil He had done, Pilate succumbs to public pressure and releases Barabbas instead. This scenario depicts the spiritual blindness and rejection of the One who came to save. It teaches us about the moral responsibility we have in recognizing and following Christ, even when societal pressures encourage different choices. As Christians, we must choose Christ over the sinful desires of our flesh, much like the people chose Barabbas.
