What comfort does Scripture provide for those grieving a loved one?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture offers comfort by assuring believers that their loved ones who die in Christ are with the Lord, and they will be reunited.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-14 encourages believers not to grieve like those without hope. In Christ, death is not the end, but rather a temporary separation. The promise of resurrection gives believers the assurance that they will one day be reunited with their loved ones who have passed away in faith. This hope provides comfort amid sorrow, highlighting the reality that although there is a sting for those left behind, it is overshadowed by the greater promise of eternal life with Christ, who has overcome death for us.
