What comfort does Scripture provide in times of grief?

Answered in 1 source

Scripture reassures us that death is not the end, as Christ promises resurrection for believers.

In times of grief, Christians find comfort in the promises contained in Scripture. Jesus' proclamation in John 11 that He is the resurrection provides hope that those who believe in Him will not see death in the ultimate sense. As He comforts Martha in her sorrow over Lazarus, He reminds her—and us—that the hope of resurrection is profoundly tied to His identity. Romans 8:28 also reassures believers that God works all things for good, even in our pain. By understanding that our loved ones who die in Christ are not lost but alive in Him, we are encouraged to see grief through the lens of hope, understanding that we will be reunited in eternal life.
