What constitutes goodness in the sight of God?

Answered in 1 source

No one is good in God’s sight apart from being clothed in Christ’s righteousness.

From a biblical perspective, true goodness is not defined by human standards but by God's perfect holiness. The scripture states that 'there is none good, no, not one' (Romans 3:10). Instead, a person is deemed good when they are clothed in the righteousness of Christ, as explained in Romans 5:19 and 2 Corinthians 5:21. This divine righteousness imputed to believers allows them to stand justified before God, as their own deeds cannot achieve the standard of divine goodness.
