What did Jesus come to do according to the Bible?

Answered in 2 sources

Jesus came to save His people from their sins by providing righteousness and serving as their substitute.

According to the Scriptures, Jesus came to save His people from their sins, as outlined in Matthew 1:21. His mission included providing the righteousness required for salvation, which could not be achieved through the deeds of the law (Romans 3:20). In doing so, He humbled Himself to satisfy the demands of the law and paid the sin debt owed by sinners. Thus, Jesus not only provides righteousness but also redeems His people by becoming their substitute, bearing the penalty for their sins.
