What distinguishes the New Covenant from the Old Covenant?

Answered in 1 source

The New Covenant is distinguished by spiritual blessings through Christ, compared to the earthly blessings of the Old Covenant.

The New Covenant, established through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, is fundamentally different from the Old Covenant, which was based on the Law and promised mainly earthly blessings (Hebrews 8:6). In contrast, the New Covenant offers spiritual blessings and eternal life. This shift emphasizes the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice and the empowerment of believers through the Holy Spirit, enabling them to live in accordance with God's will. Believers under the New Covenant are therefore assured of their identity and standing before God, based not on their obedience but on Christ's finished work.
