What does Genesis 15 teach us about God's promises?

Answered in 1 source

Genesis 15 teaches that God's promises are sure and fulfilled through His sovereign will.

In Genesis 15, God reminds Abram of His covenant by promising numerous descendants. This demonstrates that God's promises are not dependent on our understanding or circumstances but on His faithfulness. Even when the situation seems impossible, as in Abram’s old age, God’s promises stand firm. He illustrates His covenant through the smoking furnace and burning lamp, symbolizing how He will fulfill His word to His people. Therefore, it reassures believers that we can trust God's promises in our own lives.
