What does God say about human wisdom and power?

In Jeremiah 9:23-24, God instructs that no one should boast in human wisdom or might. This teaching holds that worldly accomplishments do not merit pride because every gift and ability originates from God. Understanding that wisdom and strength are bestowed by God refocuses our attention from self to divine grace.
