What does it mean that Christ is our refuge and strength?

Answered in 1 source

Christ as our refuge signifies that He provides safety and deliverance from sin and its consequences.

The concept of Christ as our refuge embodies His role as the protector and deliverer of His people. In Isaiah 8:13, we are instructed to sanctify the Lord of hosts and make Him our fear; this assures us that through Christ, who is a sanctuary for His people, we are safe from the judgment that awaits the unrepentant. Furthermore, in moments of distress or spiritual warfare, we can find strength in the knowledge that through Christ's finished work, we have been granted freedom and hope. He acts as an eternal refuge, commanding the authority to deliver us from the clutches of sin and the accusations of the enemy.
