What does it mean that Christ is our safeguard against temptation?

Answered in 1 source

Christ serves as our safeguard against temptation by interceding for us and protecting us from the accuser.

As our safeguard, Christ protects His people from the wiles of the devil, who seeks to lead them astray. He serves as both our King and intercessor, constantly defending us against accusations and temptations. The assurance comes from knowing that Christ has overcome sin and the adversary, providing believers with the power to resist temptation. Furthermore, He equips His followers with discernment through His Word. Safeguarded by Christ, believers can stand firm in their faith, knowing their security rests in Him.
