What does it mean that God is our defense?

Answered in 1 source

God being our defense means He justifies us and protects us from condemnation.

In Romans 8, we are taught that God is our defense, declaring justification over us. This means that no charge can stand against those whom God has justified in Christ. As our defense, God secures our position as righteous before Him, shielding us from any condemnation, because Christ stands as our advocate, having paid the penalty for our sins. Thus, Christians can live with peace, knowing that their standing before God is secure and that He defends them against all accusations.
