What does it mean that God is our help and shield?

Answered in 1 source

God being our help and shield signifies His protection and assistance in all aspects of life.

In Psalm 115:9-11, we find repeated exhortations to trust in the Lord, describing Him as our help and shield. This imagery reflects God's active role in safeguarding His people from both physical and spiritual harm. By trusting in the Lord, we acknowledge His omnipotence and ability to provide for our needs. He shields us from the consequences of sin and from the lies of the world. This assurance of His help empowers us to live confidently in faith, knowing our Lord is vigilant and sovereign over our lives. In a world filled with uncertainty, God remains a steadfast refuge for all who seek Him.
