What does it mean that God's love is in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

God's love is uniquely revealed and expressed through Jesus Christ.

Scripture teaches that the love of God is directed specifically toward His elect in Christ. As stated in Ephesians 1:4-5, God chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, highlighting that all of God's promises and love are encapsulated in Christ. This means that to understand and experience God's love, one must recognize its expression in the person and work of Jesus. His life, death, and resurrection pave the way for us to be reconciled to God, showcasing the depths of His love towards humanity.
