What does it mean that God withdraws His presence?

Answered in 1 source

God may temporarily withdraw His presence to deepen our desire for Him and teach us reliance on His grace.

In the sermon, it is mentioned that there are times when the Lord is pleased to withdraw His presence for His glory and our good. This withdrawal prompts the believer to seek Him earnestly, as exemplified by the bride who 'sought him, but found him not.' This absence helps cultivate a greater appreciation for Christ and teaches us to rely upon Him more fully. It’s in seeking and striving that the heart recognizes its need for His companionship and the great value of His presence, thus bringing the soul back to Him anew.
