What does it mean that Jesus glorified the Father?

Answered in 1 source

Jesus glorified the Father by completing the work He was sent to do, fulfilling God's purpose.

In John 17:4, Jesus asserts, 'I have glorified Thee on the earth, I have finished the work which Thou gave Me to do.' This declaration encapsulates the completion of His earthly ministry where He fulfilled every aspect of the law and brought about the redemption intended by God. By perfectly executing the Father’s will and sacrificially atoning for sin, Jesus not only presents His obedience but also reveals the very character of God, thus bringing glory to the Father. This glorification is interwoven with His authority as the Mediator and the impact of His work on salvation.
