What does it mean that Jesus is our high priest forever?

Answered in 1 source

It means that Jesus continually intercedes for us and His priesthood is eternal and unchanging.

When we refer to Jesus as our high priest forever, we acknowledge His ongoing role in interceding on behalf of His people at the right hand of God. As detailed in Hebrews 7:24-25, Jesus, because of His unchangeable priesthood, can save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him. His eternal priesthood assures us of His capability to provide consistent grace and mercy, unlike the many high priests of the past who served temporarily. This fulfillment of His role is foundational for a believer’s confidence in their salvation and ongoing relationship with God.
