The gospel can be hidden from those who are lost due to the blinding influence of the god of this world (2 Corinthians 4:3-4).

According to 2 Corinthians 4:3-4, 'But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost; in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not.' This indicates that the inability to see and understand the gospel is a sovereign act of God in judgment. Those who reject the truth and do not receive the love of it are subject to this spiritual blindness. The 'god of this world,' often interpreted as Satan, actively works through false religions and ideologies to obscure the truth, making it essential for Christians to share the gospel clearly and faithfully.
