What does it mean that the Lord is our light?

When we declare that the Lord is our light, we acknowledge His role in guiding us through the darkness of life. In 2 Samuel 22:29, David proclaims, 'For thou art my lamp, O Lord, and the Lord will lighten my darkness.' This metaphor emphasizes God's illuminating presence, which removes despair and fills us with hope.
