What does it mean that the Lord is our righteousness?

When we speak of the Lord as our righteousness, we assert that He is the covering for our sin, serving as our perfect mediator who satisfies divine justice. This means that anyone who believes in Him is seen as righteous before God, as their sins have been atoned for.
