What does it mean to be a laborer in the gospel?

Answered in 1 source

Being a laborer in the gospel involves working faithfully alongside others in the mission of spreading Christ's message.

A laborer in the gospel is one who actively participates in proclaiming Christ and supporting the work of the ministry. This is not an isolated effort, as seen in Paul's ministry, where he collaborated with local churches to spread the gospel. In 1 Corinthians 3:9, Paul describes believers as 'God’s fellow workers', highlighting that the work is communal and requires mutual support among believers. Each member of the body of Christ has a role, whether it be through preaching, teaching, or supporting missionaries and ministries. This teamwork primarily aims to spread the good news of Jesus Christ, as motivated by love and worship of Him. Therefore, being a laborer is a joyful privilege and a responsibility the church collectively shares.
