What does it mean to be a servant of the church?

Answered in 1 source

Being a servant of the church involves helping others and fulfilling one's duties selflessly in line with biblical principles.

To be a servant of the church is to embrace the role of aiding the body of Christ through service, exemplified by Phoebe in Romans 16. Servants are recognized for their commitment to the needs of others and their dedication to the mission of the church. Paul commended Phoebe not only for her role as a servant but also for her trustworthiness and support within the community. The New Testament teaches that each member of the body of Christ has unique gifts meant for serving one another (1 Corinthians 12), thus creating a collaborative effort in advancing the Gospel. This selfless service reflects Christ's love and should be pursued with the intent of glorifying God and building up His church.
