What does it mean to be acceptable to God?

Answered in 1 source

To be acceptable to God means being clothed in the righteousness of Christ, through faith.

Being acceptable to God entails being washed in the blood of Jesus and having His righteousness imputed to us. Romans 3:22 explains that this righteousness comes through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. No one can approach God on the basis of their own righteousness (Isaiah 64:6); instead, they must be seen in Christ's righteousness. Thus, it is only by trusting in Jesus and His completed work that we become reconciled and accepted by God.
