What does it mean to be alive to God?

Being alive to God signifies that believers are no longer under the dominion of sin. As noted in Romans 6:11, 'Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.' This transformation grants believers the ability to live righteously, not by their effort but through the Spirit's empowerment.
