What does it mean to be buried with Christ?

Being buried with Christ symbolizes the believer's union with Him in His death and resurrection. Romans 6:4 states, 'We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.' This act of burial represents our old self being put to death, signifying the end of our life apart from Christ and the beginning of a new life empowered by Him.
