What does it mean to be called out of idolatry?

Answered in 1 source

Being called out of idolatry means being delivered by God from false beliefs and into a true relationship with Him.

God's call to Abraham to leave his idolatrous background signifies His power to rescue individuals from false religions and belief systems. Just as Abram was called out of Ur of the Chaldeans, God's calling requires a departure from anything that does not align with true worship. In the light of sovereign grace, this calling emphasizes God's initiative; He does not wait for us to desire Him but actively draws us to Himself, revealing the true nature of His grace and the necessity of faith in the one true God, as noted in John 17:3.
