What does it mean to be convinced of righteousness?

Answered in 1 source

To be convinced of righteousness means recognizing that we have none in ourselves, but rely solely on Christ's righteousness (Galatians 2:16).

Being convinced of righteousness involves a deep understanding of our spiritual state before God. As stated in Galatians 2:16, we are not justified by our works but by faith in Jesus Christ. A believer comes to the realization that their own righteousness is insufficient—being as 'filthy rags' (Isaiah 64:6)—and instead, they lean wholly on the righteousness of Christ. This conviction leads to an acknowledgment of total dependence on God's grace, which, in turn, is a vital characteristic of those who are truly elected and called by God.
