What does it mean to be dead to the world?

Answered in 1 source

Being dead to the world signifies that believers do not find their identity or fulfillment in earthly things but are spiritually alive in Christ.

In Galatians 6:14, Paul speaks of being crucified to the world and the world to him, which emphasizes a separation from worldly values and pursuits. This death to the world means that believers should not prioritize the materialistic and superficial concerns that typical society values. Instead, our true identity is found in Christ, and our lives should reflect that reality. As a result, the believer's cravings and ambitions shift from the transitory pleasures of this life to eternal truths and spiritual fulfillment found only in Jesus.
