What does it mean to be exalted in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Being exalted in Christ means receiving righteousness and standing before God without guilt through faith.

To be exalted in Christ refers to the believer’s status of being justified and righteous before God. In Ephesians 2:6, it is stated that God raises us up with Christ and seats us with Him in heavenly places. This exaltation is not based on our inherent worth or works, but rather on the perfect righteousness of Christ imputed to us. In this state, we are viewed by God as having no guilt, fully accepted, and glorified because we are in union with Christ. This reality brings immense joy and encourages believers to rejoice in their exalted position, as highlighted in James 1:9 where the 'brother of low degree' is encouraged to rejoice because of his status in Christ.
