What does it mean to be 'harnessed but led by God'?

The term 'harnessed,' as used in Exodus 13:18, implies that the Israelites were prepared and organized as they left Egypt. They were full of provisions and physically ready for their journey. However, despite their readiness, they still depended on God's leading. This duality illustrates the balance between human preparation—evident in having their 'full bellies' from the Passover lamb—and the essential need for divine direction. The Christian life mirrors this; we are called to prepare ourselves for God's service, yet we must continually seek His leading through every situation.
