What does it mean to be loved by God?

Answered in 3 sources

To be loved by God means to be chosen and embraced by Him without condition, regardless of life's circumstances.

Being loved by God signifies that one is chosen, redeemed, and cherished by Him eternally. In the case of Lazarus, Mary, and Martha, we see that they were loved not based on their actions or behavior, but because they were united with Christ. God’s love is constant and unwavering, reaching us in both our best and worst moments. This divine love is not dictated by our experiences or conditions; it remains steadfast even in times of trial and sorrow. Understanding this truth allows believers to find comfort and assurance that, regardless of what they face in life, they are always under the watchful care of a loving Father who has their eternal interest at heart. Hence, trials should not prompt doubt about God’s love but evoke a deeper dependence on it.
