What does it mean to be made new in Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Being made new in Christ means being transformed and justified before God, with a new identity as His child.

Being made new in Christ encompasses both a transformational change in our identity and the evasion of past sin. 2 Corinthians 5:17 asserts, 'Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.' This suggests that in Christ, believers are given a fresh start free from the condemnation of sin. Furthermore, Ephesians 1:11 discusses being predestinated to an inheritance, which solidifies our status as God's children. The present reality is that believers now possess a new identity that is characterized by acceptance and righteousness based on their relationship with Jesus. This new status translates to an eternal hope for the future, rooted in a present faith.
