What does it mean to be part of the City of God?

Answered in 1 source

To be part of the City of God means to be a permanent resident in the kingdom of God through faith in Christ.

Being part of the City of God entails belonging to a community founded on God’s grace and truth. As detailed in Psalm 48, this city is where God dwells among His people, providing refuge and nurture through His word. The distinguishing factor of the City of God is its permanence; unlike earthly cities, it will endure through judgment. Residents are characterized by their relationship with Christ, which grants them peace, holiness, and eternal security. Ultimately, this reality encourages believers to live in anticipation of the full revelation of God’s kingdom and to participate in establishing His kingdom on earth until it is fully realized.
