What does it mean to be reconciled with God?

Answered in 1 source

Being reconciled with God means restoring the relationship between God and believers through the sacrifice of Jesus.

Reconciliation with God refers to the restoration of a relationship that was severed due to sin. Romans 5:10 states, 'For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.' Through Christ’s sacrificial death, believers are brought back into communion with the Holy God. This reconciliation is a result of Christ taking on the penalty for our sin, allowing us to be justified and declared righteous. It transforms believers' identities from being enemies of God to being His children, highlighting the depth of His love and grace.
