What does it mean to be saved in Christianity?

Answered in 1 source

To be saved means to be delivered from sin and its consequences through faith in Christ (Matthew 1:21).

Being saved encompasses a fourfold deliverance: from the penalty, power, practice, and someday the presence of sin. Matthew 1:21 states that Jesus will save His people from their sins, clarifying the ultimate purpose of salvation. Initially, salvation involves being liberated from the penalty of sin, granting forgiveness and freeing us from condemnation. Furthermore, being saved means receiving a new nature through the Holy Spirit, enabling believers to live in righteousness and holiness, which will culminate in complete freedom from sin in eternity.
