What does it mean to be spiritually blind according to Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Being spiritually blind means lacking the true understanding and recognition of one's condition before God, as exemplified by the Laodiceans' self-deception (Revelation 3:17).

In Revelation 3:17, Christ states that the Laodiceans do not know that they are 'wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.' Spiritual blindness signifies an inability to see one's true spiritual condition, often stemming from self-deception and complacency. The Laodiceans were unaware of their need for salvation and the richness of God's grace, illustrating how pride can hide the truth of one's need for Christ. This blindness can prevent individuals from recognizing their dependence on Him, thereby leading to a lack of urgency in seeking true relationship and salvation.
