What does it mean to be still before God?

Answered in 1 source

Being still before God means to trust Him and recognize His sovereignty.

To be still before God, as mentioned in Psalm 46:10, means to cease striving and acknowledge His control over our lives. It encourages us to trust in His providential care and to rest in the assurance that He knows what is best for us. This stillness is an act of faith, contrasting with our human tendencies to worry and complain. By surrendering our anxieties and placing them in God's hands, we can experience peace that surpasses understanding and deepen our relationship with Him as we learn to trust His plans.
