What does it mean to commit our lives to Christ?

Answered in 1 source

Committing our lives to Christ involves surrendering our sins, future, and daily living to His lordship.

To commit our lives to Christ means to place our trust in Him fully, allowing Him to take control over every aspect of our existence. As seen in 2 Timothy 1:12, Paul distinctly states that he has committed everything to Christ, which includes his sins, his life, and his future. This act of commitment reflects a trust that God is faithful and has the power to guide us. When believers commit their lives to Christ, they acknowledge His sovereignty over their decisions, their difficulties, and ultimately the end of their lives. Such a commitment may reflect an ongoing relationship established in prayer, reliance upon the Scriptures, and an active pursuit of holiness in response to God's grace.
