What does it mean to have saving faith?

Answered in 5 sources

Saving faith involves trusting wholly in Christ for salvation, recognizing Him as the basis for one's righteousness.

Saving faith is more than mere belief; it is a complete trust in Christ as the Savior. This faith acknowledges that we cannot achieve righteousness through our efforts (Romans 3:20) but rely solely on Christ's finished work on the cross. As indicated in John 6:29, the essence of the work God requires is to believe in the One He has sent. Saving faith results in a transformation of the heart where one responds to God's grace not with self-reliance but with dependence on Jesus alone for forgiveness and salvation.
