What does it mean to have the Holy Spirit?

Answered in 1 source

Having the Holy Spirit means being empowered for witness and transformed for holy living.

Receiving the Holy Spirit signifies that believers are sealed by God and empowered for service and sanctification. Jesus promised the Holy Spirit as a Helper (John 14:16), who enables believers to live according to God's will and bear witness to the truth of the Gospel. The presence of the Holy Spirit also signifies the believer’s assurance of salvation, as He testifies with our spirit that we are children of God (Romans 8:16). Furthermore, the Holy Spirit equips believers with gifts for the edification of the church and the advancement of the Gospel, making His presence indispensable in the Christian life.
