What does it mean to honor God in our lives?

Answered in 1 source

Honoring God entails living in faith and obedience, putting Him and His kingdom first in all things.

To honor God is to recognize His sovereignty and authority in our lives and respond appropriately with trust and obedience. As highlighted in Genesis 50, Joseph honored God by consistently demonstrating faith and obedience, knowing that his actions were for the good of God's people. We are called to do the same, seeking first the kingdom of God and prioritizing God's glory above our personal ambitions. This honor is not achieved through our own merit but is a response to the faith He gives us to believe in Christ, who perfectly obeyed God on our behalf. In essence, to honor God is to live a life that testifies to His goodness and sovereignty, reflecting His love and grace to those around us.
