What does it mean to honor the Son?

Answered in 2 sources

Honoring the Son means recognizing His divine authority and worshiping Him as fully God, equal to the Father.

In John 5:23, Jesus asserts that 'all men should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father.' This command highlights the necessity for believers to acknowledge Jesus as worthy of the same reverence and worship given to God the Father. To honor the Son entails more than mere acknowledgment; it calls for a heartfelt recognition of His divinity, His works, and His role in redemption. In a religious world filled with misconceptions about Jesus, true honor recognizes His exalted status, as described in Revelation 1, where He is portrayed as the glorified King. Christians are called to resist any attempts to diminish Christ's divine nature and instead must worship Him in spirit and truth.
