What does it mean to love God?

To love God is to acknowledge the depth and richness of His love for us and to respond to that love with our own commitment and devotion. We love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19), indicating that love is a response rather than a prerequisite. This love manifests itself in obedience to God’s commands, a desire to know Him more deeply, and a willingness to reflect His character in our interactions with others.
