What does it mean to love one another as Christians?

Answered in 4 sources

Loving one another means having a godly love that reflects God's love for us and unites us as brothers and sisters in Christ.

The love that Christians are called to exhibit towards one another is a reflection of God’s own love. This love, as detailed in 1 John 4:7, informs us that 'everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.' It transcends ordinary affection and is rooted in selflessness, sacrifice, and the desire to uplift others. This godly love cannot be manufactured by human effort; it is a fruit of the Spirit working within true believers. As God's children, we are compelled to act in ways that demonstrate support, encouragement, and compassion towards each other, fulfilling the commandment to love as Christ loved us. The authenticity of this love serves as a witness to the world of our relationship with Christ.
